I researched materials, colors, and textures to enhance the aesthetic and ergonomic quality of the pet furniture line. Collaborated with senior designers to refine prototypes, balancing current design trends with safety considerations. I created composited product imagery and web layouts for the company’s official platform, ensuring visual consistency across digital media. For the product detail page in the website, I composited dog and cat imagery onto the product renders to demonstrate scale, interaction, and everyday context.

Living abroad pushed me to rethink what it means to be Korean in a place that feels both exciting and unfamiliar. Small everyday routines, especially eating and drinking, became moments where homesickness, curiosity, and adaptation overlapped. Food started to feel like more than comfort. It became a way to understand how identity changes when you are constantly moving between cultures, habits, and social environments.

This project uses food in a playful but thoughtful way to express that cultural shift. By pairing soju, a drink closely connected to Korean social culture, with iconic Western comfort foods, the work visualizes a hybrid identity that is fluid, curious, and continually reconstructed. The combinations are intentionally humorous and slightly unexpected, showing the awkward but meaningful process of translating one culture into another. At the same time, the project acknowledges the risks and social pressures around drinking, rather than treating alcohol only as a symbol of celebration.

This spread is part of Pulp, a class-wide published magazine. The five magazine pages were co-created by Alison and me as a shared exploration of identity, cultural exchange, and the emotional experience of living between familiar and unfamiliar worlds. Through image, layout, and playful food pairings, the work reflects how cultural identity can be reshaped through daily rituals, collaboration, and personal memory.
